• A Sheffield Flexible Office business centre located on Shirland Lane has been taken over by Kier Asset Partnership Services.  Former managers SIBTEC surrendered their lease of the premises back to Sheffield City Council at the beginning of November. The site, which consists of 4 self-contained blocks and is situated on Sheffield City outskirts, is now being managed by Kier on behalf of the City Council. • West End office space take up looks promising for Q.4; that is according to a report by commercial and retail property magazine Property Week.  Last week the publication reported that several major corporations have been showing an interest in the West End office space market.  Potential office moves look to be on the cards for big-brand names the likes of Shell, Debenhams, Cap Gemini, TMP Worldwide and BBH.  While rents in the Capital remain low, the augmented activity looks to be by corporations hoping to bag-a-bargain in the West End.  To search for office space in the West End CLICK HERE. #
• Charwell House Business Centre in Alton has picked up a rather unusual award this month for the worst car parking bay in the UK!  The car parking space was nominated by a Jamie Dickenson during a nationwide search by Insurance company Aviva to find particularly bad places in Britain to park.  The bay was declared the worst space because it is boxed in on all sides!  According to Charwell House’s latest press release, the bay is intended for use by workers who will not be leaving the grounds until after 6pm, although they did admit that the signage regarding this was inadequate.  Since being given the award members of staff at Charwell House have erected a plaque by the bay which reads “2009 Worst Space but Best Place – 6pm+ only - thanks to Jamie Dickenson”.  #
